This is a suit to recover damages received as a result of an alleged trespass. The appellant, after being served with citation, filed an answer, but failed to appear at trial. After hearing evidence on the appellees claim, the trial court rendered judgment for them in the sum of $20,000. The appellants motion for new trial was overruled by operation of law when the trial court failed to rule on it.
